Conditions and Terms of Grants

General Information: 

·         See Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA for requirements for receiving Federal Assistance

·         Must be maintaining qualitative and quantitative Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP), as defined by the Federal Department of Education, and in keeping with B-W requirements for good standing

·         Must meet all posted deadlines

·         Must comply with all requests for information from the Financial aid Office, especially when necessitated by federal verification requirements

·         Must notify the Office of Financial Aid in writing of any changes in enrollment or residency status! (i.e. dropping classes, moving off-campus, etc.) 

Federal Pell Grant: 

·         Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) serves as application

·         Maximum amount varies depending on federal appropriations

·         Undergraduate, degree-seeking (no prior degree), good academic standing

·         Eligibility based on financial need, as determined by federal processor

·         Application deadline – last day of regularly scheduled classes

Additional Information from the Department of Education

Federal Supplemental Opportunity Grant (SEOG): 

·         Free Application for Federal Student Aid serves as application

·         Maximum amount of $1500/year, depending on federal appropriations

·         Undergraduate, degree-seeking (no prior degree), good academic standing

·         Eligibility based on financial need, in conjunction with Pell Grant

·         Application deadline – same as Pell Grant

Ohio Instructional Grant (OIG): 

·         Free Application for Federal Student Aid serves as application

·         Maximum amount varies depending on state appropriations

·         Undergraduate, full-time, resident of Ohio, degree-seeking student

·         Eligibility based on total family income, household size

·         Application deadline usually October 1 of award year, may be extended

Ohio Student Choice Grant: 

·         Baldwin-Wallace College Financial Aid Information booklet serves as application

·         Amount varies depending on state appropriations

·         Undergraduate, full time, degree-seeking resident of Ohio

·         Have not attended any college or university full time prior to July 1, 1984

·         Application deadline – last day of second week of class for current term
