Student Employment Manual The Student Employment Manual has been prepared for the benefit of Baldwin-Wallace College students and for faculty and staff who hire student assistants. The manual outlines procedures and offers guidelines to be used for hiring, paying, and terminating student employees. In addition, we have attempted to express the philosophy of employing student workers and to explain the rights and responsibilities of students and their employers. Who is
eligible to work on campus? ·
Students
who have Federal work/study as part of a financial aid award ·
Students
without work/study may seek employment beginning the fourth week of Fall
Semester How do I
find a job on campus? · Contact
a department of interest to you · Check
with the Student Employment Center on the second floor of the Bonds Administration
Building or
access the SEC Web Page: www.bw.edu/~sec/ How many
hours per week am I allowed to work? · The
hours of work you are permitted to be employed on campus are determined by the
dollar amount of your work/study award if you were awarded Federal work/study as
part of your financial aid award. ·
Non
work/study students are generally limited to ten hours of work per week What
paper work do I need on file with the SEC before I begin work? ·
You
need to complete an I-9 form, a W-4, and the Ohio School Tax District Form How much
will I be paid? ·
The
majority of jobs on campus pay minimum wage.
Your supervisor will inform you if your position is one that pays above
minimum wage. How do I
get paid? ·
Students
are paid every two weeks. Payday is
on Thursday. ·
You
may pick up a hard copy check at the Cashier’s Office, sign a waiver to have
your earnings credited to you college account, or have your check direct
deposited into your personal savings or checking account. |
